L’atelier d’estampe Imago offre une bourse annuelle à un.e candidat.e qui a gradué.e du baccalauréat en arts visuels de Mount Allison University ou l'Université de Moncton dans les cinq dernières années. Cette bourse vise à encourager et appuyer les artistes estampiers de la relève en leur donnant l’occasion de continuer leur production artistique en estampe au Nouveau-Brunswick. L'atelier d'estampe Imago remercie Galerie Sans Nom pour sa collaboration dans le cadre de ce projet.
Sounds of the Garden, Sounds of the Home (Bruits du jardin, bruits du foyer) explore les tensions entre les espaces intérieurs et les formes domestiquées de la nature. Par l’entremise de structures sculpturales et des tirages, j’ai créé un espace qui fusionne le foyer et le jardin en examinant la nature en terme de sa fétichisation, sa marchandisation et sa subordination. Les oeuvres dans l’installation sont construites à partir d’articles ménagers, des matériaux de construction, des plantes et du papier peint imprimé. Ensemble, ces composantes manifestent les tensions et les contradictions inhérentes à leurs matérialités. En reconnaissant la salle d’exposition comme espace intérieur, je tente créer un environnement basé sur nos relations artificielles envers le monde naturel et ses représentations.
Jeff Mann est un artiste en début de carrière originaire d’Ottawa, Ontario qui vit et travaille à Sackville, Nouveau-Brunswick. Mann détient un BAV de l’Université Mount Allison où il a travaillé principalement en sculpture et estampe.

Imago Artist-run print studio offers an annual bursary to a candidate who has earned their Bachelors in Fine Arts from Mount Allison University or l’Université de Moncton within the past five years. This bursary enables young artists to continue their practice in contemporary printmaking in New-Brunswick. Imago extends its thanks to Galerie Sans Nom for their collaboration.
Sounds of the Garden, Sounds of the Home presents an exploration of the tensions that lie between interior spaces and domesticated forms of nature. Through sculptural constructions and prints I have created a space that merges the house and the garden, investigating nature in terms of its fetishization, commodification, and subordination. The works in the installation are constructed of household objects, construction materials, live plants, and printed wallpaper; together demonstrating the tensions and contradictions inherent within their materialities. Acknowledging the exhibition room as an interior space, I aim to create an environment built on our artificial relationships to and representations of the natural world.
Jeff Mann is an emerging artist from Ottawa, Ontario, currently living and working in Sackville, New Brunswick. A graduate of Mount Allison University, he is a multidisciplinary artist working primarily in sculpture and printmaking.

Dans la tradition de Graveurs de Poètes, l'atelier d'estampe Imago a jumelé quatre artistes estampiers avec quatre écrivains pour la réalisation d’un projet de livre. Les artistes ont été donné carte blanche au niveau du thème avec seulement quelques consignes techniques. Par conséquent, chaque livre naît d'une série de rencontres et de conversations entre les participants. Les quatre groupes ont travaillé à la conception, l’impression et la reliure de leurs projets pendant trois mois.
In the tradition of Graveurs et Poètes (Printmakers and Poets), Imago artist run print studio paired four printmakers with four writers to create a book. The participants were given carte blanche in terms of content with only a few technical instructions. Hence, each project stems from a series of meetings and conversations between the artists. The participants worked on the design, the printing and the bounding of their projects for a period of three months.

L’ensemble de mon travail sculptural et performatif interroge ou exacerbe les rapports sociaux que j’entretiens avec mon environnement. Je disloque, reconstruis et incarne les comportements en société, les dynamiques de groupe et les relations de pouvoir qui s’y développent. L’enjeu est de rendre visibles mes affects et tensions ressenties entre les individus d’une communauté. Je construis des dispositifs collaboratifs ou participatifs m’emparant de la réalité pour la décliner sur un mode alternatif (costumes, inventaire d’objets, art vivant). Ainsi, je me positionne tel un «manager relationnel, qui orchestre une prestation singulière» (Ardenne, 2002) me faisant revivre seule ou en groupe des expériences réelles pour tenter d’en développer la complexité. En résidence d’artistes à l’atelier d’estampe IMAGO, je produirai une panoplie de tests de sérigraphie sur textile afin de réaliser des bannières, des drapeaux et diverses pièces de tissus au sujet de la performativité du genre (Butler 1990). Ces impressions seront activées en performance et installées à la Maison Rollin-Brais dans le Vieux-Longueuil durant un laboratoire de création dans le cadre du projet «Les filles vont vieillir, mais le titre ne changera pas.» présenté, en collaboration avec Sophie Perry, à l’automne 2018.
Née en 1990, Geneviève Cadieux-Langlois vit et travaille à Longueuil en périphérie de Montréal (QC, CA). Diplômée en Arts visuels et médiatiques à l’Université du Québec à Montréal et détentrice d’un brevet en enseignement, Geneviève développe une pratique pluridisciplinaire en performance, installation et art imprimé. Elle a participé à plusieurs expositions et résidences d’artistes au Québec et à l’international. Récipiendaire du Prix de LA SERRE-arts vivants décerné lors de l’exposition des finalistes du Prix Albert-Dumouchel au centre d’essai en art imprimé ARPRIM (Montréal, QC), elle poursuivra ses recherches à ZOCALO, centre d’artistes (Longueuil, QC) à l’été 2018.
Most of my performative and sculptural work examines or exacerbates the social relationships I have with my environment. I disrupt, rebuild and embody society’s behaviour, group dynamics and resulting power relations. The challenge is to make visible the affects and tensions sensed by individuals in society. I construct collaborative or participatory devices appropriating a reality in order to center on an alternative method (costumes, living art, inventory of objects) reliving real experiences either individually or in group to expand its complexity. During my residency at Imago, I will screenprint an array of tests on textiles in order to make banners, flags and other objects. These objects will be activated in performance and displayed at Maison Rollin-Brais dans le Vieux-Longueuil during a creative laboratory as part of «Les filles vont vieillir, mais le titre ne changera pas.» (The girls will grow old, but the title will never change), presented in collaboration with Sophie Perry in autumn 2018.
Born in 1990, Cadieux-Langlois lives and works outside of Montreal, in Longueuil. She holds a bachelors in Fine and Media arts and a certificate in teaching from l’Université du Québec in Montreal and her pluridisciplinary practice moves from performance to installation and print media.

Durant sa résidence à Imago, Chris Foster va travailler en intaglio et en linogravure en continuant sa recherche de la ligne et la forme en abstraction architecturale.
Foster est un artiste et concepteur multidisciplinaire basé à Toronto. Son travail prend plusieurs formes, tels que l’installation publique, la sculpture, le design, l’estampe et des projets en collaboration. Avec une approche interdisciplinaire, son travail examine des éléments de culture matérielle, l’environnement bâti et les espaces interstitiels. Foster détient un baccalauréat en arts visuels du Nova Scotia College of Art & Design (NSCAD) en 2008.

Chris Foster is a multidisciplinary visual artist and designer based in Toronto. His artwork takes many forms including public installation, sculpture, design, printmaking and collaborative projects. Working across disciplines, his work engages conversations about material culture, the built environment and spaces in transition. He received a Bachelors of Fine Art from the Nova Scotia College of Art & Design (NSCAD) in 2008. His clients have included Ontario Place, the Art Gallery of Ontario, Toronto Artscape, Long Winter and the Summer Works Theatre Festival. Foster's work has been exhibited throughout Canada and can be found in public and private collections internationally.
