Eฬpistola (Eฬpiฬtre en francฬงais)
Le terme eฬpiฬtre est un mot archaiฬque, issu du latin epistola, du grec ฮตฯฮนฯฯฮฟฮปฮท (epistoleฬ), qui deฬsigne une lettre (au sens de correspondance).
Unยทe artiste et unยทe รฉcrivainยทe sont jumelรฉs ensemble. Lโรฉcrivainยทe envoie une enveloppe par la poste ร lโartiste. Celle-ci peut contenir un mot, un poรจme, une phrase, une photo, un objet, etc. Lโartiste rรฉpond รฉgalement par la poste avec une image, un objet, une lettre: la correspondance dure trois mois. Les correspondances servent de point de dรฉpart pour la crรฉation de lโexposition.
Pour cette รฉdition, nous prรฉsentons les oeuvres de Alisa Arsenault, jumelรฉe avec l'รฉcrivaine Charlotte Biron (Jardin Radio) et Pat Joy, jumelรฉ avec l'รฉcrivain Jon Claytor (Take The Long Way Home).

Epistola
From Old French epistre, from Latin epistola, from Ancient Greek ฮตฬฯฮนฯฯฮฟฮปฮทฬ (epistoleฬ), from ฮตฬฯฮนฯฯฮตฬฮปฮปฯ (epistelloฬ, โI send a messageโ), from ฮตฬฯฮนฬ (epi, โuponโ) + ฯฯฮตฬฮปฮปฯ (stelloฬ, โI prepare, sendโ).
An artist and a writer are paired together. The writer mails an envelope to the artist. The envelope can contain a word, a poem, a sentence, a photo, an object, etc. The artist also responds by mail with a picture, an object, a letter, etc. : the correspondence lasts three months. The correspondence serves as a starting point for the creation of the exhibition.
For this edition, we are presenting the works of Alisa Arsenault, paired with writer Charlotte Biron (Jardin Radio) and Pat Joy, paired with writer Jon Claytor (Take The Long Way Home).
