ART EN BOÎTE 2012

Le 14 février, donnez à votre amour le cadeau idéal: une oeuvre.

Les billets sont maintenant en vente pour la campagne de financement annuelle Art en Boîte de l'atelier d'estampe Imago. Cette activité permet à l'atelier d'acquérir et mettre à jour ses équipements et ses installations. Une vingtaine d'artistes participants font dons d'oeuvres qui sont placées dans des boîtes à pizza. Le détenteur de billet reçoit un numéro correspondant à une boîte. Le détenteur est ensuite invité à se joindre à la foule et échanger l'oeuvre reçu s'il le désir. Art en Boîte permet aux gens de visiter l'atelier, voir et acheter des oeuvres d'artistes locaux, en plus d'observer des artistes estampiers à l'oeuvre. Cette année, Art en Boîte a lieu mardi le 14 février au Centre Culturel Aberdeen, de 17h à 22h00.

Les heures de bureau sont du lundi au mercredi de 9h à 17h, ou sur rendez-vous. Imago est localisé au Centre Culturel Aberdeen, 140 rue Botsford, suite 17 à Moncton. L’atelier Imago, fondé en 1986, est un centre d’artistes autogéré ayant le mandat de faire la promotion et la diffusion de la création artistique en estampe actuelle.

Tickets are now on sale for Imago's annual fundraiser Art en Boîte. This event enables the printshop to purchase and update much needed equipment. Twenty participating artists generously donate work that is randomly placed in pizza boxes. The ticket holder receives a number which corresponds to a box. The ticket holder is then encouraged to mingle in the crowd and exchange its contents if so desired. Art en Boîte is a chance for people to visit the printshop, see and purchase local work by local artists and watch printmakers in action. Art en Boîte will take place on Tuesday February 14, at the Centre culturel Aberdeen from 5pm until 10pm.

Pudy Tong en résidence à Imago


Un enthousiaste de l'actualité depuis sa jeunesse, Pudy Tong examine la politique et la poétique de la machine journalistique. Le projet de Tong s'insère dans sa recherche continue qui emprunte du trope cinématographique du journal pivotant “spinning newspaper”. À travers des couches surimprimées en rotation, il examine certains détails d'images de conférences de presse. Tong a une maîtrise en arts visuels du Nova Scotia College of Art and Design à Halifax. Il sera en résidence à l’atelier d’estampe Imago du 13 au 26 novembre et donnera une présentation de son travail mercredi le 23 novembre à 17h30 à Imago. Toutes les présentations sont entrée libre et ouvertes à tous.



A news junkie from an early age, Pudy Tong's work is engendered by the poetics and politics of the journalistic engine. The project to be undertaken at Imago will be an extension of an ongoing project that borrows from the cinematic trope of the spinning newspaper, using over-printing and rotating as the means to examine particular details in press conference images. Earlier this year, Tong completed a group commission project entitled LEFT administered by Trinity Square Video (Toronto). His work has been exhibited across Canada and abroad at venues including Centre for Art Tapes (Halifax), Alternator Centre for Contemporary Art (Kelowna) and Sydney College of the Arts (Sydney, Australia). Tong holds an MFA from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design University (Halifax).

Tong will be working at Imago from November 13 until November 26 and will give a talk at Imago on Wednesday November 23 at 5h30. All talks are free and open to the public.
